I broke my neck skiing in 2012ish. Started out from the summit in the Jura, bad weather, low cloud, slope deserted. Out of control, upended, came down hard on my back/shoulder, neck snap. I was unconscious, awakened by a concerned skier. No idea how long I was out for. 10 seconds, 90 seconds. All I know is there was no one on the slope earlier, and no one on the nearby top of mountain ski lift.
