In the early days we set up a turntable with a can of food on it that sent it past a bar code scanner that read the barcode and beeped when it did. We used it at exhibitions. On one notable occasion a bloke on the next stand stormed onto ours and shouted “ stop that fcuking beep”. This became a standard joke phrase at CSY.
