Who was Simo Häyhä, the deadliest sniper in history?
The Winter War (1939–1940), between Finland and the Soviet Union, one man became a legend: Simo Häyhä, also known as "The White Death".
In just 100 days of fighting he killed over 500 enemy soldiers, without a scope, using a simple Mosin-Nagant rifle with a rear sight. No super soldier gadgets: just skill, glacial calm and perfect knowledge of the environment.
Simo dressed completely in white, dug emplacements in the snow, and put snow in his mouth to hide his breath. He would stand still for hours, waiting for the perfect moment.
The Soviet Union feared him so much that they sent artillery and squads just to eliminate him. '' And failed !
